A Whirling Dervish of Phraseology

It's hard to write lately. Not because there's nothing to say, but more because I don't know where to start and the topics are so scattered. Sometimes the things that stir me to put the pen to paper are things I've already hit on.

Lately thoughts ramble and bounce. A myriad of chaos swirling in my mind, just out of reach when I sit down to write.

Maybe the voices just have questions LOL

If the pen is really mightier than the sword, how come no one has ever been beheaded by a Bic?

When is the last time a victim was found with a Paper-Mate through the heart?

If a picture is worth a thousand words, why do people always feel the need for some catchy title or description?

If humans are the most evolved animal, why are we the only animal that wears a watch, worries constantly about time, feels the need to "adjust" it twice a year, yet is perpetually late for most things?

If you're a day late does it really even matter if you're a dollar short?

And if being a day late means your outta luck, why do people say "better late than never"?

The saying is that "all good things must come to an end", but you never hear them mention how long the bad stuff will last. Why does the good stuff have to end? I don't think it does.

And while I'm rambling.....

Having a conversation with a friend several days ago and she was laughing about how I always tell her like it is, even if it's not what she wants to hear at the time. My cuz knows this to be true too, as I'm forever blessing her with my uncensored insight. Anyway….this friend and I were discussing the fact that it's not exactly WHAT I say that bothers people, but it's the fact that I truly mean what I said & it's HOW I say it. Generally, they just don't get it, so they aren't sure how to take it.

For instance, it's a rare occasion where I can truly use my vocabulary on the majority of the people I may encounter on a day to day basis. It's pathetic talking to someone only to have to explain to them what that "$5" word meant. Instead I often find myself having to cut to the chase and just say it in plain old hilljack English.

What would be considered an educated comment/remark is countered with "Are you ingnernt?" ARGH….shoot me now!

Why are people always talking but there's nothing coming out? There are times that I think my ears are going to bleed just listening to it.

I'm not saying that everyone around me is a slobbering moron. On the contrary, the annoyance comes in because most of them are very smart people that are….well….let's call it Unwitting Victims of Slovenly Phraseology. (Yes, phraseology is a word lol) They have relaxed into the speech of "this is easier so we'll just do it this way".

It's not always a matter of education, and I am truly NOT meaning to come across with snobbery. Not at all. My point is simply that sometimes a very intelligent person can bring their IQ points crashing down with a simple statement. It bothers me that intelligent people allow their surroundings to stupefy them in some ways. Just because BillyBob JimmyJoeJack down the street talks like he literally fell off the turnip truck, doesn't mean that you have to. You don't have to talk over their head, but you don't have to talk down to them either.

*sigh*

I'm rambling due to annoyance I suppose, and a lot of disappointment.
